An independent magazine about Italian football culture. This is not the website of AC Milan, of a fan club or of the former fan site on this domain; we do not sell tickets and we do not write about betting.

Events

Events

Football culture does not live only on match days. Traditions grow up around it: city derbies, European nights, club anniversaries, exhibitions and museum displays. In this section we describe these kinds of events and offer simple tips on checking an announcement. We do not publish fixtures or dated announcements — look for those with the organisers.

Every event begins with an announcement. Checking it takes a few minutes, and those minutes are well spent.

— From the editors

How this section works: we describe types of events in general terms and do not publish fixtures, line-ups, predictions or dated announcements. Check details of a specific match or exhibition on the organisers' official websites.

Kinds of events

Four kinds of events around which football culture takes shape.

Derbies

Matches between clubs from the same city or region. In Milan the derby is especially striking: both clubs play at the same stadium, and the stands divide by colour.

History

European nights

Matches in European club competitions, usually played on weekday evenings. For supporters they carry a special atmosphere and a wealth of memories.

Club anniversaries

Milestone anniversaries of a club's founding: exhibitions, commemorative publications, supporters' gatherings. Check the founding date against encyclopaedic sources.

Exhibitions and museums

Displays on the history of football, stadiums and supporters. Many large stadiums and federations run their own museums and tours.

How to check a match or exhibition announcement

  • Find out who the organiser is: a club, league, museum, federation or private company
  • Find the organiser's official website and check the date, time and venue against it
  • Buy tickets only from the organiser or the official partners listed on its website
  • Be wary if the announcement appears only on social media or on an unfamiliar site with no contact details
  • Check whether visiting arrangements have changed shortly before the event
  • Keep your confirmations and do not hand over personal data via links in random messages
  • History

A timeline of Italian football from the founding of Milan in 1899 to the 2007 Champions League.

  • People

Who creates football culture: supporters, fanzine writers, journalists, historians, photographers, commentators.

  • Archive

The magazine's sections and what is known about the old material on this domain.

Sources

  • Encyclopaedic sources on the history of Italian football
  • UEFA — competition history

Historical information is based on encyclopaedic sources and official competition histories. Competition rules, stadium names and museum visiting arrangements change, so check them on the organisers' official websites.
